About This Site

PURPOSE

This site is designed to communicate information about TABB to TABBmembers. Members now have a single source for all association details concerning education courses and programming, membership, TABB forms, state and national issues affecting brokers, conventions, conferences, chapter meetings, TABB Board operations, Board Certified Brokers, affiliate products and services, sponsorships, trade shows, elections, and all other items and issues about TABB that need to be communicated to the membership. In addition, the site will be used to feature both broker and affiliate members and recognize member accomplishments.

This site is not intended to serve, or be viewed, by the public, and will not replace the association's public site - www.tabb.org - which will continue to serve buyers and sellers and list the businesses for sale by TABB broker members.

PHOTOS

Members are encouraged to post their professional photograph in the membership lists generated by this site. Photos must have the following specs:

  • Photos must be in a JPG digital format, taken by a professional photographer.
  • Only professional press photos or "head shots" will be accepted.

  • Men are strongly urge to wear a coat and tie.

The TABB staff will determine whether the photo submitted meets the standards for posting on the web site.

Also, if you are shown in one of the group pictures on this site and do not wish to be, please contact the TABB staff and the photo will be replaced.

LINKS

Much of the bold blue text in this site is linked to another frame or document. If linked, the text will reveal an underline when the cursor is placed over it.

PASSWORD PROTECTED AREAS

Some of the menu items and documents in this site are password protected. Only TABB members can unlock these items with their member username and password. After entering both codes, all locked items in the site will become available to you without having to reenter your password.

FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD???

You may obtain your member username and password by clicking on "Forgot Your Password?" on the password entry screen. Enter your email address, and your member username and password will be emailed to you within minutes, provided the email address you entered is the same as the one on file with the association. If the email address you entered is not the same as the one currently on file with TABB, you will have to contact the TABB staff to obtain your password codes.

UPDATING PERSONAL INFORMATION

Members may update their personal information with TABB by clicking on UPDATE MEMBER INFORMATION in the upper right corner of the HOME page. After correcting your information, click the SUBMIT button and all of your changes will be emailed to the TABB staff. Submitting changed information does not automatically change all of membership lists available on this site. In most instances, the changes you submit will be made to all lists within 24-hours.

AFFILIATE ADVERTISING

Under the section entitled Affiliates, the site features the affiliate members of the association and allows them to expose their products and services to the broker membership. This service is included in affiliate membership dues. Specifically, this new section allows Affiliate members to post:

  • Professional photos of the affiliate member(s) of the association.
  • A description of the products and services offered by the company (maximum 150 words).
  • Company promotions/business offers/press releases or other company announcements.

Affiliate members should contact the TABB staff to participate in this free service.

BE A FEATURED MEMBER!

From time-to-time, this site will feature individual broker and affiliate members. The purpose of these features is to introduce individual members to the general membership and not to promote the featured member. Featured members are chosen at random from a list of members who supply the following information:

  • a personal biography of your business career (preferably your business brokers career). Bios must be a minimum of 225 words and a maximum of 350 words. Bios cannot contain advertisements or promotional material about your company.

  • a professional photo meeting the specifications set forth above under PHOTOS.

The TABB staff reserves the right to edit or reject bios and photographs that do not meet the qualifications set forth above.

SUBMIT A BROKER TIP

From time-to-time, this site will feature Broker Tips. The purpose of this feature is to provide a forum for members to share their experiences in the business brokerage profession. Any member, broker or affiliate, can submit a Broker Tip for posting on this site. Your tip must be about the business brokerage professional and not a company promotion.Tips are chosen at random from a list of members who supply the following information:

  • tips must be a minimum of 250 words. There is no maximum. Tips cannot contain specific references to company names or individuals by name, other than yourself.

  • a professional photo meeting the specifications set forth above under PHOTOS.

The TABB staff reserves the right to reject tips and photographs that do not meet the qualifications set forth above. Share your experiences with your colleagues. Send a Broker Tip today!
